The Back Room
(Or why two wise men and a computer scientist have joined forces)
Most people believe that to know about wine you have to be born among vineyards. They are wrong.
In 1998, Víctor and Pablo de los Riscos decided that life was too short to drink whatever was dictated by industrial trends. It all started on a trip through Spain, in a wine shop in Laguardia. There, a business owner with a sharper eye than most salespeople today told them the truth: Malaga needed someone to sell. Wines with soul, not just labels.
They've been saying "no" for over 20 years. They've said no to reds that taste of old wood and whites that are all acidity. They've specialized in signature wines and limited editions that people take care of as if they were children.
His opinion is not just a viewpoint; he is a recognized authority with awards such as the New Door 2025, where they rubbed shoulders with such renowned acts as Tragabuches or La Cónsula.
And what is a Computer Engineer doing here?
Am Ivan Gascon. For years, my world was offices, code, and screens. A world of cold logic. But one day I realized that I preferred direct interaction and the uncorking of a bottle that Víctor and Pablo had personally approved.
I've left the software so that those jewels they select in their store in Malaga can arrive at your home on the Costa del Sol.
While they take care of the heart of the business in the store, I make sure you don't have to choose between 500 mediocre items.
If it's on this website, it's because Victor and Pablo would drink it in their own home.
