This wine has a story that seems like something out of science fiction. In 1988, a winegrower from La Rioja discovered that, by a pure whim of nature, clusters of yellow grapes had grown on one of his Tempranillo red vines. natural mutation which gave rise to Tempranillo Blanco. For this Author's Selection, Oscar blends this local rarity with Chardonnay, the queen of international white wines. But what truly makes the difference is its time in the fire: it's fermented in new French and American oak barrels, where it rests for 6 months with its lees.
